FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH Dr. Mansooreh “Massey” Salari, M.D., has been named Chief Medical Officer for Children’s Medical Services. Dr. Salari is a pediatric primary care physician and has been the senior physician for the Florida Department of Health in Polk County since 1979.

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES Michael Wickersheim has been named legislative affairs director by Secretary Mike Carroll. Wickersheim most recently served as deputy director of legislative affairs for the Florida Department of Transportation.

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION Kelley Boree, Division of State Lands Director, has resigned. She has served as director since 2014. David Clark is serving as acting director.

NEW COLLEGE Tracy Murry, Dean of Students at New College, resigned on December 7th. Murry came to the school as associate dean of students in 2008 and had served as dean of students since 2014. Mark Johnson, assistant director of admissions, will serve as interim dean until a replacement is found.

MIAMI-DADE SCHOOL BOARD Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall was elected vice-chair of the Miami-Dade School Board, making her the first African-American woman to hold that position.

FLORIDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Tracy Duda Chapman has been elected chair of the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors. She is senior vice president of A. Duda & Sons Inc. in Oviedo.

FLORIDA RETAIL FEDERATION Randy Miller will take over as president and CEO of the FRF on January 1st. He will be replacing Rick McAllister, who announced his retirement on October 28th. Miller has been with FRF since 2004 serving as executive vice president.

FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTY Roosevelt Holmes III, campaign organizer and congressional staffer, has been hired as the new deputy political director for the FL DEMS. Holmes worked on President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign and on Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s 2012 reelection campaign.
