Senate President Bill Galvano (R-Bradenton) has indicated a possible special session during the next fiscal year to readjust the budget in light of the receipt of federal funds from the CARES Acts. To date, Florida has received $4.1 billion from the CARES Acts to aid the state in responding to and recovering from COVID-19.
CORONAVIRUS LAWSUITS Senator Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg) is working on legislation that would block lawsuits from individuals claiming they contracted COVID-19 at a business, as long as those companies were taking all necessary precautions to protect employees and customers.
