Movers and Shakers

Governor Scott Appointments:

Board of Governors of the State University System Appointed was Fred Salerno, Hobe Sound, retired vice chairman and chief financial officer of Verizon. Salerno previously served for six years as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the State University of New York.

Board of Optometry Appointed were Dr. David Rouse, Cooper City, an optometrist with Rouse Family Eyecare; and Dr. Katie Spear, Pensacola, a practicing optometrist.

Enterprise Florida, Inc. Board of Directors Appointed was Gregory Celestan, Tampa, owner and chief executive officer of the Celestar Corporation. Celstan served in the United States Army from 1984 until 2004.

Florida Commission on the Status of Women Appointed was Carol Kuntz, Winter Park, a previous trustee of the Florida House in Washington, DC and a community leader.

Florida Film and Entertainment Advisory Council Reappointed were Pamela Tuscany, Melbourne, the vice president of production at Universal Orlando Resort; and Pieter Bockweg, Miami, executive director of Midtown CRA.

 Florida Housing Finance Corporation Appointed was Mario Facella, Loxahatchee, senior lender with TD Bank.

Florida Humanities Council Reappointed were Dr. Sue Kim, Ormond Beach, a retired psychiatrist; Dr. Glenda Walters, Lynn Haven, a community volunteer and retired teacher from Bay District Schools and adjunct professor with Gulf Coast Community College, Florida State University Panama City, and Barry University. Also reappointed was Thomas Lang, Orlando, owner of the Law Office of Thomas F. Lang, who recently passed away.
