Governor Rick Scott Appointments:

Florida Elections Commission Appointed are Kymberlee Curry Smith, Cooper City, a self employed attorney, nominated by Senate Minority Leader Arthenia Joyner; and J. Alex Kelly, Tallahassee, vice president of advocacy at the Foundation for Excellence in Education, nominated by House Speaker Steve Crisafulli. Reappointed was Barbara Stern, Fort Lauderdale, an attorney with the Dwyer Law Group nominated by House Minority Leader Mark Pafford.

Florida Healthy Kids Corporation Board of Directors Reappointed are Elizabeth Kidder, Tallahassee, assistant deputy secretary of Medicaid policy and quality for the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration; and Mansooreh Salari, Lakeland, chief medical officer of Children’s Medical Services for the Florida Department of Health.

Florida Prepaid College Board Appointed is Ambassador John Rood, Jacksonville, chairman of the Vestcor Companies Inc. Rood previously served as the United States Ambassador to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas from 2004 to 2007 and as a member of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Board of Governors of the State University System.

Judicial Nominating Committee Governor Scott appointed seven people to the Judicial Nominating Committee, which are listed here.

Miami-Dade County Expressway Authority Appointed is Leonard Boord, Coral Gables, founder and chief executive officer of Slon Capital. Reappointed is Ester “Shelly” Fano, Cutler Bay, director of the hospitality management program at Miami- Dade College.

South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners Appointed is Frank Ledee, Hollywood, assistant state attorney for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.

Northwest Florida Water Management District Reappointed are Jon Costello, Tallahassee, governmental consultant with Rutledge Ecenia P.A. and an adjunct professor at Florida State University; and Samuel “Bo” Spring, Port Saint Joe, managing member of Big Fish Construction LLC.

St. Johns River Water Management District Reappointed is Doug Bournique, Vero Beach, executive vice president of the Indian River Citrus League.

Suwannee River Water Management District Reappointed are Don Quincey, Chiefland, owner of Quincey Cattle Company and past president of the Florida Cattlemen’s Association; and Gary Jones, Old Town, a self-employed farmer with Jones Farms.
