Florida A&M University Rufus Montgomery announced on October 23rd that he is stepping down as FAMU board of trustee chairman, though he will remain on the board. On October 28th, Dr. Spurgeon McWilliams, chairman of the facilities committee, resigned his position on the board of trustees. The resignations come after weeks of tension with FAMU President Elmira Mangum, culminating in a deadlock among the trustees over her firing.

Lake-Sumter State College  Stanley Sidor has been selected as president, effective January 1st. He replaces President Charles Mojock, who retires on December 31st after more than 13 years.

Indian River Lagoon Council  Duane DeFreese, a senior environmental consultant at HydroPro-Tech, LLC, signed a three-year contract to serve as director of the Council.

Suwannee River Water Management District The governing board has chosen Noah Valenstein, Governor Scott’s environmental policy coordinator, to be the District’s executive director.

South Florida Water Management District Pete Antonacci, attorney with GrayRobinson and previous general counsel to Governor Scott, will serve as the District’s executive director.
