Office of Financial Regulation Appointed by the Florida Cabinet as Commissioner was Ronald Rubin, a former special counsel in the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Office of the State Courts Administrator Appointed Interim State Courts Administrator was Lisa Goodner Kiel. She has over 35 years of experience in the state government, including 11 years as state courts administrator before retiring in 2014. Kiel replaces Patricia “PK” Jameson, who is now staff director for the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Criminal and Civil Justice.

Port Richey Mayor Port Richey Mayor Dale Massad resigned, just hours after he was suspended by Governor DeSantis. Massad is accused of practicing medicine without a license and firing shots at officers who went to his home to serve a search warrant.

SeaWorld Appointed CEO was Gustavo Antorcha, COO of Carnival Cruise Lines. He replaces Joel Manby who served as CEO of the theme park for three years.

University of Central Florida Dr. Thad Seymour, vice president for partnerships and chief innovation officer, will serve as interim president while a nationwide search is conducted to replace Dale Whittaker. Whitaker resigned in February amid a controversy over UCF’s misuse or planned use of $85 million in operating funds on construction projects. Whitaker was chosen by the trustees to serve last July.
