Florida Department of Environmental Protection Named new director of the Florida State Parks System was Eric Draper. Draper previously served as Executive Director at Audubon Florida.

Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers Association Appointed CEO  Hart IV. Hart, a former legislator, had served as Executive Vice President of Florida TaxWatch since June, and served as president and CEO of CareerSource Florida from 2007-2017, when he left to run Enterprise Florida from November 2017 to March 2018.

House Democrats State Representative Kionne McGhee (D-Cutler Bay) was chosen on December 5th to become the next leader of Florida’s House Democrats. McGhee succeeds House Minority Leader Janet Cruz (D-Tampa).

Florida A&M University Appointed president was Dr. Larry Robinson. Robinson had been serving as interim president since September 15, 2016. He served also served as interim president from July 2012 to April 2014 and for a period in 2007.

University of Central Florida President John Hitt announced that he will retire on June 30, 2018. He has served as president of Florida’s largest university for 26 years.

University of South Florida Retiring from teaching next year is Dr. Susan MacManus, Distinguished Professor of Political Science. MacManus has served as political analyst for WFLA News Channel 8 Since 2008, she has been a featured columnist on sayfiereview.com, and is a nationally respected political scientist.
