Florida Health Care Association Toby Philpot was named chief lobbyist for FHCA. He is leaving the Agency for Health Care Administration, where he has served as chief of staff since 2015. Philpot was former chief of staff at the Florida Lottery and former political director for former Senate President Mike Haridopolos. He is replacing Bob Asztalos, who is retiring after 30 years at FHCA.
Florida Commission on Ethics Elected chair was Daniel Brady, Ph.D., Miami Shores, a retired social work and community mental health care professional. Elected vice chair was F. Shields McManus, Martin County, an attorney who previously served as a circuit court judge.
James Grant State Representative James “Jamie” Grant (R-Tampa) has ended his reelection campaign in HD 64 and will instead serve as the state’s chief information officer.
RPOF Helen Aguirre Ferré is the new executive director of the Republican Party of Florida. She was previously communications director for Governor DeSantis since January 2019.
