LEON COUNTY MASK MANDATE The First District Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal by the Leon County GOP Chair against the County’s mask mandate. The court did not rule on any constitutional issues; rather, the case was dismissed since the plaintiff’s attorney, state representative Anthony Sabatini (R-Howey-in-the-Hills), did not file an initial brief at the appeals court.

MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS A Florida grand jury has determined that Florida’s mental health program for minors has “urgent problems” and should be overhauled. The grand jury was convened after the Parkland shooting and will be submitted a final report and recommendations to the Legislature last April. Shortly after the report was released, the Governor designated $23 million for the programs from the federal CARES Act funds.
