James Webb Space Telescope NASA has dropped amazing new images captured by the James Webb Telescope.

Euclid Space Telescope Not to be outdone, the European Space Agency launched the Euclid Space Telescope on July 1st using a Space X Falcon 9 rocket. Eleven years in development, the telescope it is designed to explore the evolution of the dark universe.

More Efficient Spacecraft Lockheed Martin has been selected to build an experimental nuclear-powered spacecraft that aims to make trips to the moon and Mars more efficient. The first mission is scheduled for no later than 2027 from the Space Coast. While carrying a nuclear reactor, it will be brought online only after achieving orbit. 

Humans Are Obsolete NASA has launched four experimental satellites from New Zealand that will act as an unmanned “swarm.”  They will test out technology for positioning, networking, maneuvering and decision-making without any input from mission control. The satellites will operate in low Earth orbit for a six-month period.

IT’S HOT IN THE WATER A worldwide record has been achieved in the waters surrounding the Florida Keys with a research buoy preliminarily recording water temperature of 101.1 degrees. Waters surrounding South Florida have recorded consistent temperatures of 94 degrees, which is 7 degrees above average for this time of year. The hot waters are damaging the reefs by bleaching and killing coral.

TOLL RELIEF The toll relief program has now passed the halfway point of the discount period (ending on 12/31/2023), saving users $227 million. Drivers who accumulate 35 toll transactions in a month automatically receive a fifty percent credit to their account.

BRIGHTLINE The start of high speed rail service from Orlando to Miami has been delayed for an additional two weeks in order to complete training and testing. Service will begin on September 15th with rates of $79-$149 depending on amenities.

Hackers are accessing smart TV’s by sending a phishing message, tech-support ads, or fake bills for services. We are reminded that if we see a suspicious message on our TV (or any device), do not respond.
