BONNETED BAT The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services is requesting public comment regarding the designation of 1.2 million acres as critical habitat for the endangered bat, which lives in 13 Florida counties. The deadline for public comment is January 23, 2023.

FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATIVE COMMISSION The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a seasonal no-entry zone restricting boats in Brevard County near Florida Power and Light’s Cape Canaveral Energy Center. Additionally, the agency will work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to again feed lettuce to manatees over the winter months. Over 202,000 pounds of lettuce were fed to the mammals during the 2021-22 winter season.
