Her attorney successfully argued she was vulnerable to coronavirus. She has served less than half of her five-year sentence for her conviction on federal corruption, conspiracy, tax evasion and fraud.

Liberty County Gina Singletary McDowell, the supervisor of elections for Liberty County, was suspended by Governor DeSantis on May 1st, following her arrest by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. She has been charged with fraud and official misconduct.
Sea World CEO Serge Rivera has resigned, after just five months. Marc Swanson, who serves as chief financial officer and treasurer, has been appointed interim chief executive officer. Swanson held this position before Rivera was hired to replace Gustavo Antorcha last November. Antorcha served as CEO for just seven months. The theme park will be searching for its fifth CEO in about six years.
University of Florida J. Scott Angle, PhD has been named vice president of agriculture and natural resources of the University of Florida/IFAS. Angle previously served as director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture and replaces Jack Payne who retired after serving 10 years in that position.
