Movers and Shakers

Appointed by Governor DeSantis:

Okaloosa County Superintendent of Schools Appointed was Marcus Chambers, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, to replace Mary Beth Jackson, who was suspended by Governor DeSantis on January 11th.

Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections West Palm Beach attorney Wendy Link was chosen to replace suspended Palm Beach County’s elections chief Susan Bucher.

Seminole Supervisor of Elections Chosen as Seminole County Supervisor of Elections was Chris Anderson, chief investigations officer for the Seminole County Tax Collector’s Office. Anderson replaces Mike Ertel, who was picked to serve as Florida Secretary of State, but who subsequently resigned.

South Florida Water Management District Appointed were John “Jay” Steinle, West Palm Beach, managing director of Lighthouse Investment Partners; Scott Wagner, Miami Beach, president and owner of Wagner Legal;Jackie Thurlow-Lippisch, Sewall’s Point, former mayor of Sewall’s Point; Carols “Charlie” Martinez, Miami, president of CEM Investments LLC; Cheryl Meads, CEO of Trumpet Calls LLC, Real Estate and a member of the Islamorada Village Council; Charlette Roman, Marco Island, city councilwoman and retired U.S. Army Colonel; and Chauncy Goss, former Sanibel City Council member.

Tallahassee Community College District Board of Trustees Appointed was Maicel Green, Havana, media and external affairs manager at Talquin Electric Cooperative.

Volunteer Florida Appointed CEO was former state Representative Clay Ingram (R-Pensacola). Ingram served in the Florida House from 2008-16 and as president and CEO of the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce since 2015.

VISIT FLORIDA Appointed CEO and president was former Senator Dana Young (R-Tampa).
