Movers and Shakers

Governor Rick Scott Appointments:

Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors Appointed was William Kastroll, Naples, owner of Harbour Insurance, LLC.

Commission on Ethics Appointed were William Meggs; Tallahassee, former State Attorney for the Second Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, former Leon County Sheriff’s Office deputy; former president of the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association; and Garrett Richter, Naples, president and chief executive officer of First Florida Integrity Bank and former State Representative and Senate President Pro Tempore.

Florida Department of Children and Families Appointed interim secretary was Rebecca Kapusta. She currently serves as assistant secretary for operations at DCF, and previously served as the general counsel for the Department. She is replacing Secretary Mike Carroll who is leaving the agency after serving at DCF since 1990.

Department of Juvenile Justice Appointed interim secretary was Timothy Niermann. He served as the deputy secretary of DJJ since December 2015. He replaces Christy Daly Brodeur, who resigned last month. Daley spent twelve years at DJJ and is now at Ballard Partners.

Enterprise Florida Board Appointed to the board was James Blair. Blair was appointed by outgoing House Speaker Richard Corcoran.

Jacksonville Transportation Authority Reappointed was Arezou Jolly, Jacksonville, assistant general counsel for Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Judicial Nominating Commission Multiple appointments and reappointments were made to Florida’s Judicial Nominating Commissions. You may view these appointments here.

Lee County Sheriff Appointed Sheriff was Carmine Marceno Jr., Fort Myers. He replaces Sheriff Mike Scott, who resigned.

Polk County Board of County Commissioners  Appointed was Rick Wilson, Bartow, a small business owner.

Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority Reappointed was Shaun Oxtal, Tampa, managing director of Capright.
