Florida Ports Council Niki McKinnell has been named vice president of public affairs of the Council. McKinnel previously worked at the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and will replace Jennifer Krell.

Floridians for Better Transportation Denver Stutler has been appointed chair of Floridians for Better Transportation. Stutler is chief executive officer of Polston Applied Technologies, LLC, and previously served as secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation and chief of staff to Governor Jeb Bush.

Public Service Commission Lisa Edgar will not seek a fourth term on the PSC. Edgar was first appointed to the State’s utility regulatory board by former Governor Jeb Bush. She will remain on the Commission through the end of 2016.

Senator Gwen Margolis Senator Margolis (D-Miami) will not seek another term in the Florida Senate. The 81 year old Democratic senator from South Florida was the first female Senate President in 1990. Margolis served 40 years in public office, both in the House and Senate and as a Miami-Dade County Commissioner, including as its Chair.

Representative Reggie Fullwood Representative Fullwood (D-Jacksonville) faces 10 counts of wire fraud and four charges of not filing income tax returns from 2011 to 2014. The indictment says Fullwood, who has served in the Florida House since 2010, funneled money from a bank account used by his election campaign account into one created for a real-estate development business he owned, Rhino Harbor, LLC. He was recently granted an extension, which will move his trial back to August.  Six candidates have filed to run for his seat this fall.
