Governor Rick Scott recently reappointed Norman Tripp to the Board of Governors of the State University System. Tripp is a Ft. Lauderdale lawyer and has previously served on the Board of Directors for Annenberg College, the Board of Trustees for the University of Miami, and the Board of Trustees for Florida Atlantic University. Governor Scott also recently announced the appointment of Dr. Ada Armas and John Colon, and the reappointment of John Padget to the State Board of Education. Armas, of Coral Gables, is a physician with MCCI Medical Group; Colon, of University Park, is a senior vice-president and investment officer with Wells Fargo Advisor; and, Padget, of Key West, is a private investor.
VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official tourism marketing corporation, recently announced the hiring of Paul Phipps as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Phipps has nearly forty years of experience in sales, marketing, promotions and management. VISIT FLORIDA also announced Susan James will be the new Marketing Director. James has twenty-five years of experience in the corporate and agency arenas.
