Jeff Atwater Former Florida Chief Financial Officer and Senate President Jeff Atwater has joined Ballard Partners. Atwater was elected to the state House in 2000 and to the Senate in 2002. He served as Senate president from 2009 to 2010 and was elected state CFO in 2010. He was re-elected four years later. He left his office early in 2017 to take a position as vice president and chief financial officer at Florida Atlantic University.
Mary Mayhew Florida Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Mary Mayhew has resigned to become president and CEO of the Florida Hospital Association. Her last day with AHCA is October 2nd. This is the second time in less than two years that the agency has lost its leader to a hospital industry group. Justin Senior, the previous secretary, left to head the Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida.
U.S. Department of Agriculture Dr. Spiro Stefanou, an economics professor at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agriculture has been selected to serve as administrator of the USDA’s Economic Research Service.
