POT GROWING BAN The Florida Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal of a District Court of Appeal ruling upholding the ban on medical marijuana users of privately cultivating and processing marijuana.

MOBILE GYM INSURANCE The Fourth District Court of Appeal has ruled against a woman who sued her auto insurance company. The woman was injured in a mobile gym accident and sought uninsured motorist insurance benefits. Even though the gym on wheels did not carry adequate insurance, the court ruled the truck was a “premise” since it was parked and operating as a business entity at the time of the accident.

EXPRESSWAY CHALLENGE The State has appealed a circuit court ruling to the First District Court of Appeal that determined the recent law abolishing the Miami-Dade County Expressway Authority unconstitutional. The state contends the Authority did not have the proper standing to file the lawsuit.

iPHONE FACETIME Apple is requesting that a Florida judge deny a proposed class action determination on a lawsuit alleging Apple deliberately made FaceTime unavailable to iPhone 4 users who used iOS 6 or earlier operating systems.
